Town and city managers, engineers, and other officials responsible for municipalities' waste management need service that is fast, effective, environmentally sound, and competitively priced. Hartigan's professional, fully trained technicians use sophisticated waste management system equipment incorporating the latest 21st-century technology, assuring full compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Services available to municipalities include underground infrastructure inspection, line clearing, vacuuming, vactor service, and reporting. We also respond to wastewater emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Hartigan's professional technicians receive extensive training in Vermont's Occupational Safety and Health regulations, with special emphasis on Federal Safety and Health Act for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response. In addition, all technicians are trained in Confined Space Entry and Hazardous Materials Handling.
Inspection services include both visual and closed circuit television capability. Our closed circuit television unit uses a self-propelled transporter with 360-degree, high-resolution camera for complete inspection of an entire system.

Hartigan's cameras can inspect lines from four inches to four feet in diameter. All data retrieved is logged, retained on CD/DVD, and catalogued. View examples of line inspection video in Quicktime (2mb) or Windows Media Player (4mb) formats.
Hartigan uses the most advanced, environmentally sound line cleaning technology available today. Our high-pressure jetting system is superior to older methods such as cold cutting and auguring. Our self-contained jetting equipment is capable of generating 170F water at 4,000 PSI through high-pressure nozzles. This cleans out and removes all grease and other deposits from waste lines. From one-inch sinks to 72-inch municipal main sanitary lines, Hartigan is equipped to handle the job.
Vacuum services available from Hartigan provide the capability to empty tanks from 50 to 500,000 gallons. We also service manholes, wet wells, lift stations, rail cars, sludge digesters, and many other tank facilities.
For truly major obstructions, our vactor service is appropriate for removing sand, rocks, grease, roots, and other large objects. Our Vactor 2115 with 5000 cfm blower combined with 100 gpm/3000 psi provides the power and speed to complete even the largest jobs efficiently and quickly.
